Clematis grape-leaved: description, planting and care
Content:
Clematis grape-leaved is intended for decoration of a summer cottage. This article describes the proper grooming, the growing sequence, and how to do so. So that there are more clematis bushes on the site.
Clematis grape-leaved characteristics and description
A plant of the Clematis variety from the Lomonos genus, the Buttercup family. In appearance it looks like a climbing plant. The vine-leaved clematis has a thin and long stalk, chopped wriggling leaves, with the help of which the vine-leaved clematis can cling to the base of the house, the gazebo, for example, a beam or handrail, therefore this clematis is called vine-leaved.
Clematis grape leaves decorates the porch of the house, verandas, such a plant well hides the errors of houses or any other construction. In hot weather, you can hide behind clematis, as its volume leaves a shadow on the ground.
Of the non-domestic clematis, there are two types that are also grown on the plots: a herbaceous and a semi-handicraft plant. After a period of plant growth, the herbaceous type of clematis dies, leaving only the root system, but the semi-artisanal type of clematis is frost-resistant.
The type of root system is varied, but clematis has only two of them: a narrow rod, lobular with different ends of the roots.
The root system is spread over the ground and can be seen. Clematis with a thin core system is impossible to transplant. A plant with such roots must be grown in one place.
In clematis grape-leaved stem, in appearance, it looks like thin branches of a dark brown color. With subsequent seasons, more and more clematis embryos grow on the stems. Even over the summer, clematis can grow so much that its volume can cover the roof of the gazebo.
The petals of clematis are folded into five or more petals, similar to the shape of a heart, while the leaves, on the contrary, are ribbed, but smooth, reaching up to ten centimeters in size. The first inflorescences will begin after a three-year wait from planting.
Flowers grow exclusively on fresh sprouts. Light-colored buds smell gentle, pleasantly nutty, not cloying. The size of this color is small, only two centimeters. Such buds grow assembled, and can reach up to twelve centimeters in size. They resemble stars in shape. There are a lot of stamens in the center of the flower. The inflorescence of grape-leaved clematis begins in mid-summer and ends at the end, but it can also extend until mid-autumn.
When the end of the inflorescence comes up, you can see small fruits in the form of heads. Along the outer shell, they are strong, the tip of the embryo is rough in sensation, reaching four centimeters. The fruits themselves are brown in color, grow up to seven millimeters, the seeds linger for a long time on the shoots.
Clematis grape-leaved cultivation
The first step is to find a site for growing grape-leaved clematis, this is an important stage for the plant, for its development, ripening. It is known that clematis is a heat-loving plant, and without the sun it cannot take root, but it also needs shade, because clematis petals can simply dry out and die from the hot sun. There should also be no wind blowing. Clematis is transferred to fires, stuffiness.
Shoots must be planted in mid-autumn. And in the northern cold regions, it is better to plant shoots in March or early April.
Soil preparation is also a very important step for the cultivation of vine-leaved clematis. The composition of the land must necessarily include: crushed stone, manure and peat, all this must be poured onto the plowed land. Further, the earth feeds on minerals, ash, lime. In the manufacture of drainage, pebbles or medium pebbles are used.
Next, a hole is dug, sixty centimeters in size, each length. Clematis is planted a meter apart, buried in a hole, moistened and fertilized, and also warmed with a layer of straw so that the plant does not freeze during the cold time of the day.
Clematis grape-leaf care
Grape-leaved Clematis is not picky about caring for him. Such a plant loves moisture, but you cannot overdo it. You need to moisten it only when the ground is already dry, and in hot weather you need to water it after three or five days in the amount of two buckets of water. Care must be taken not to overflow the middle of the seedling with water.
Growing other crops and flowers helps to moisturize and trap cool weather. Grape-leaved Clematis adapts perfectly to the looped rose.
So that the soil does not rot in the rain, you need to monitor this, otherwise the plant will simply die, and especially in cloudy weather. And if this happened, then after the earth dries up, it is necessary to treat it with special preparations from the fungus. At the end, soot is poured onto the ground.
Fertilize the soil for grape-leaved clematis in March with a mixture of water and lime. One bucket is sufficient for watering three seedlings. Further, the soil is processed with a rake and covered with sawdust. Also fertilized with droppings and special mixtures for feeding seedlings.
In the summer months, the soil is fed once, first with nutrients, vitamins, then with natural humus and moistened. Before the flowers begin to bloom, they are nourished with minerals so that the buds are large and beautiful. Fertilized with natural manure in September.
Agronomists advise cutting off grape-leaved clematis a couple of times a year. In March, the bushes are cut to the shoots, the clematis cut is very important, so the plant blooms and grows in comfort. Weed removal will be a plus.
HOW TO PROTECT KLEMATIS VINEYLOBE FROM VIRUSES AND RODENTS
Clematis grape-leaved is not exposed to any viruses at all, but there are cases when the plant can get sick, for example, the soil can rot, specks of rust or light burns can appear on the leaves.
- Rust - such a virus is dangerous for the plant, its symptoms are the spread of specks on the leaves. The virus engulfs the plant at a high rate, so that the entire plant can be covered in a short time. To save it, various special preparations are used, for example, copper sulfate, a very good and effective remedy, it is also necessary to cut off the infected twigs of the plant.
- Rotting of the root system - such a disease appears due to the exaggerated amount of water in the ground. Firstly, you need to dry the soil as quickly as possible, this will require a rake, which will loosen and level the earth, and you also need to monitor the number of times and the amount of soil moisture.
- Powdery mildew is a dangerous virus for clematis, its symptoms are pronounced white scattered spots on the leaves. You can cure the plant with various means for the garden, for example, bard mixture, or dilute laundry soap in water and spray the leaves, and also process the stems of grape-leaved clematis.
There are cases when a plant is attacked by rodents, harmful insects. For example, many pests absorb moisture from the plant and entangle the stems, leaves, flowers with a sticky layer, then various infections, such as fungus, appear. You can cure such a disease and scare off an insect using a mixture of laundry soap and water, the spraying process.
Spider mite - such a pest is dangerous for the plant, it spreads its web everywhere, and later the plant dies. Such an insect can be declassified by dark specks on the leaves. Such a pest can be exterminated only with a special product from the store, for example, Fitoverm.
Increasing the volume of climatis
All clematis can be increased in volume, this is done like this:
- The seeds are planted in April. The first thing to do is to put the grains in warm water for soaking, then they are planted in plastic boxes with mineral substances filled with earth for planting. After the first shoots have appeared, the seedlings are planted in a greenhouse, so it is grown for a whole year. But in the ground on the site, clematis is planted exclusively in the spring season.
- Clematis is also increased in volume with the help of stems ranging in size from ten to fifteen centimeters in mid-summer. First of all, the stem must be settled in a special solution to strengthen the roots, then they are planted in boxes in the soil with minerals. Transplanted into a greenhouse, and then into open soil.
- With the help of rotting in the soil, another grape-leaved clematis can germinate, the stem is specially applied to the soil, something heavy is put on top and left.
- You can propagate clematis by splitting one seedling into two. The bush is cut in half with a special tool, the roots are also halved. The part of the seedling that is cut is treated with special means for healing and strengthening. At the end, as the seedling is planted, it is necessary to moisten the soil with warm water.
