Potatoes are the most famous root vegetable that can be found in every vegetable garden. Agronomists do not stand still, developing all new varieties, as you know, and Belarusian specialists have succeeded in this matter. Today we will talk about one fairly new, but already very popular potato variety "Breeze".
This variety was bred in Belarus in 2005, and in 2009 it was added to the catalog of varieties in Russia.
Breeze potato bushes of medium height, half erect, dark green foliage, large, closed, white inflorescences. Breeze's tubers are large, oval in shape, and the peel with pulp is yellow.
"Breeze" is a mid-ripening variety. The length of time between planting until the tubers are fully ripe is 70-90 days.
The yield of this variety is quite high - the known maximum yield is 45 tons per hectare of land. The average weight of each tuber is about 100 to 150 grams.

- perfect for preparing absolutely any kind of food, and can be subjected to any heat treatment.

This variety can withstand both drought and humid climatic conditions. But in any case, the potatoes will not plant and collect themselves, that is, even “lazy people” will have to do some manipulations.
How to choose the right place
Potatoes "Breeze" adapt well and grow even in the most unfavorable conditions, they are not afraid of drought at all. But this does not mean that you need to plant it in dry ground.When choosing a place, you need to start from the fact that potatoes, like many vegetables, love and prefer a sunny place.
Legumes will be excellent predecessors on the site; when planting, do not forget to follow the rules of crop rotation.
Soil requirements
It is advisable to prepare the site for planting potatoes in the fall, remove all weeds, add grass, foliage to the ground, and dig up. By spring, the foliage will rot and this will be an excellent organic fertilizer.
You can add potash and superphosphate fertilizers in the spring and dig up the area.
What are the landing dates
Potatoes "Breeze" should be planted only when the soil warms up by 10-12 cm by 8 degrees, and this is not earlier than mid-May. In any case, focus specifically on your region and your weather conditions.
How to prepare Breeze potatoes before planting
A couple of weeks before the planned planting, it is recommended to prepare the potatoes:
- sort out rotten and deformed planting material;
- then the potatoes should be transferred to a warm, and most importantly bright place, in order to give it the opportunity to germinate;
- pack the tubers by size, and cut the large ones into several parts, the main thing is that there are eyes on each part;
- further, if there is a desire, sprouted root crops should be disinfected from diseases and pests, this is done either with a solution of potassium permanganate, or with special protective preparations, which are quite large selection on the shelves of specialized stores.
It is possible to plant and use potato seeds "Breeze", but this is the least common method, so we will not consider it in our article.
How to plant potatoes "Breeze"
After the seeds have sprouted and the soil has warmed up to the required temperature, we proceed to planting.
Each gardener has his own planting technique, often this is done in the holes. For this, holes are dug about 10 cm deep, the distance between the holes is 65 cm, planting material is laid in them, and fertilizer is applied if desired. After which everything is covered with earth.
Many gardeners strive to increase the distance between the holes to 90 cm, thus the bushes will not interfere with each other, block the sun, and this is as a way to protect potatoes from the spread of possible diseases.

How to water potatoes
Unlike most varieties, "Breeze" is very fond of moisture, therefore it is recommended to water it constantly and abundantly, 5-6 times during the season, on average, 3 liters of water is needed for each bush. Especially potatoes need watering when they are in the flowering phase.
Top dressing
Practice has shown that Breeze potatoes respond positively to fertilizers. Whether it is mineral or organic fertilizers. Mullein is recommended from organic matter.
It should be fed 3 times per season:
- the first feeding is carried out when the greens appear. For this, a solution is made of water and urea, after which the bushes are watered, one bush - half a liter of solution;
- the second feeding is done in the bud formation phase. This time the solution is made from water with ash and potassium sulphide;
-the third feeding is done in the phase of active flowering of the bushes. For this, mullein and phosphate lime are mixed in water.
How to huddle potatoes
The most important and necessary measures for the care of potatoes are loosening of the soil and its hilling of bushes, as well as weed control.
In order for the harvest to be fruitful, the soil should be regularly loosened. The first time, loosening is carried out to a depth of 11 cm, then to a depth of 7 cm.
It is strongly advised to huddle bushes before their height reaches 20 cm.
Possible diseases, how to deal with them
Potato "Breeze" is protected from most ailments, but, unfortunately, it has a weak immunity to late blight. This disease is very dangerous and destructive for potatoes, therefore, when the first symptoms are found, the plant should be treated. Means for late blight can be bought at any specialized store and processed according to the instructions.
For the prevention of various diseases, for the development of immunity, it is recommended to process the planting material in advance in order to get a fruitful harvest.
