Cucumbers and their cultivation is a fairly easy process. In order to grow them, it is enough to know just a few tricks.
Cucumbers: preparing the soil for growing
These vegetables do not tolerate cold, so the soil for them must be more than fourteen degrees Celsius. The land must be enriched with humus, so vegetables will grow easier. Cucumbers are also positively influenced by soil with organic fertilizers.
It is not advisable to grow these vegetables constantly in the same place, it is best to do this every five years, otherwise different diseases may appear. Potatoes and tomatoes can be its predecessors.
Planting cucumbers using the seedling method.
Although cucumbers can be grown in two ways: seedling and seedless, experienced gardeners advise using the seedling method.
For this you need:
Take good, strong and large seeds, which were previously warmed up for a month at a temperature of twenty-five degrees. If they are not heated, the vegetables will not sprout well, and they will also bear fruit later.
After that, we make an infusion of one hundred grams of cool water and thirty grams of garlic pulp. We keep the seeds in such a mixture for one hour. With the help of such a mixture, we will disinfect the seeds.
Now we put the cucumber seeds in special fabric bags. After that, it is worth soaking them for literally twelve hours in a decoction of one liter of water and one teaspoon of wood ash, which must be sieved and added to it with nitrophosphate.
After that, it is necessary to rinse each seed with cool, not dirty water, lay it on a not very damp towel and keep it for a couple of days at a temperature of twenty degrees until they swell. Also, make sure that the seeds do not germinate.
Now we move these seeds to the refrigerator, where we keep them for a whole day.
Do not forget that if you have hybrid seeds, then they do not need this procedure. Seeds are sown in small containers about ten to twelve cm high.
Remember to prepare the soil in advance. For this we need:
Small sawdust from wood (1 part) and peat with humus (2 parts).
We mix all this and add one and a half teaspoons of nitrophoska (ten liters higher than the indicated infusion). It is also necessary to add two tbsp to this broth. spoons of wood ash. After that, mix everything very well.
Now we fill the container with this mixture, sow the seeds and water a little. After a month, the seedlings will be ready.
Also, seedlings must be fed with a solution. For this solution, you need to mix 3 liters of warm water with 3 teaspoons of nitrophoska. We do this after we have seen the first two leaves.
We water the seedlings once a week and take into account that the container must be spilled to the brim.
Proper care of cucumbers is the key to a good harvest.
First, you always need to remove various weeds and debris from cucumbers.
Secondly, in the first three weeks it is necessary to regularly loosen the soil.
Thirdly, cucumbers should be watered with warm water about once a week.
And, of course, the cucumbers need to be fed. We do this five times in one season using organic and mineral fertilizers.
Do not forget to tie up the shoots as the cucumber shoots grow.
As you can see, growing cucumbers is not difficult at all. But then the plant will give you delicious vegetables!
