The flower Ifeion belongs to the Liliaceae family. In the middle zone of our country, when cultivated in the fresh air, this herbaceous is not left for the winter season. The fact is that the native edges of the plant are the territory of South America, namely the tropical and subtropical regions. It happens that the bulbs will be able to overwinter only once in the fresh air, however, the bulb will no longer grow well and produce the flowering process. Later, the onion most often dies. Therefore, this herb is usually cultivated at home, however, in the southern regions, the plant is also grown in gardens.
This family includes about twenty-five herbaceous species. As a garden plant, it is cultivated in only one variation, namely this variety, it includes a couple of species that differ in size and color palette. So, flowers can be bluish, lilac, snow-white or pinkish. The following varieties are more famous: Album, White Star (White Star), Wisley Blue, Jessie (Jessie), Charlotte Bishop. Fragrant flowers differ in their beautiful presentation. If you rub the leaf, then you can smell the rich smell of garlic. Narrowed, elongated leaves have a dark greenish color and glossy surface.

In its natural environment, the flowering process of the ifaeon occurs at the end of the spring season. Immediately after this, the herbaceous begins a state of rest. At the beginning of the autumn season, young twigs are formed in the herbaceous plant. Because of this, the purchase of bulbs intended for planting is recommended to wait until the end of the summer season. If the bulbs are kept for a long time, then they can dry completely.
Earth mix
The optimal soil for the ifheon flower is not heavy, it should contain a lot of leafy humus. Remember to place a drainage layer on the bottom of the container. Plant the bulb 5 centimeters into the ground. Moisten with warm liquid. It is advised to plant a couple of bulbs at the same time in a single container. The first flowering process is not very strong, but the following ones are more abundant each time.
The specifics of the flowering process
The flowers that look like stars have six petals. They are quite pastel and beautiful in color, and with a strong flowering process, a spectacular plant is obtained. During the entire flowering process, each bulb can form a couple of peduncles. If a couple of bulbs were planted in the container at the same time, then the flowering process can last about thirty days or a little more. When the herbaceous plant completes the flowering process, all its foliage dries up.
Required amount of light
It is advised to place a single-flowered ifeion in an area with sufficient sunlight, which means that you should give preference to a windowsill on the south side. In the autumn and winter seasons, this plant must be placed in an area with enough light; in the worst case, the leaves will wither.
How to moisturize correctly?
It is necessary to moisturize systematically, but do not overdo it, find a balance. The first layer of soil must dry between wetting. It is possible to use a liquid for humidification of all possible hardness.
Top dressing
The first time the herb is fertilized at the end of the winter season. Before the flowering process begins in the ground, it is necessary to have time to place the top dressing twice or three times. For this, all kinds of top dressing for domestic herbaceous are suitable. After the flowering process begins, the introduction of fertilizing into the soil should be completed, while the plant must also be moistened sufficiently.
Resting state
After the flowering process is completed, this representative of herbaceous crops develops a yellowish color and the leaves begin to turn yellow. From that moment, the herb is not moistened, the plant begins a state of dormancy, which continues until the end of the summer season. Dried foliage should be carefully trimmed. During dormancy, the soil must sometimes be moistened to prevent the bulbs from drying out. In this case, the very container with flowers is advised to be moved to a shaded and cool area. The formation of new foliage takes place at the beginning of the autumn season. The container is moved to a sufficiently illuminated area and the grassy area is again moistened.
Plant propagation

It is possible to breed an Ifeion flower by dividing the bulbous nest, and also using the seed method. The division of the bulbs and their change of places of growth are carried out once every three years. Daughter bulbs produce the flowering process in the second year. Full ripening of the seed takes place in a month immediately after the beginning of the flowering process. The flower obtained from the seeds produces the flowering process only when it reaches three years.

In regions with mild climates, this herb is cultivated as a garden plant. Usually the plant is used to decorate the roadside and squares. A place suitable for planting an ifaeon should be with the necessary amount of sunlight and shelter from drafts. The soil should not be heavy, but it should be drained. After a while, the shrubs grow and large inflorescences form. The change of the place of growth of the bulbs is carried out once every thirty-six months. They are placed five to six centimeters deep in the ground, with the space between the bulbs being about eight centimeters.
It is necessary to moisten and fertilize this representative of herbaceous crops cultivated in a flower garden identically to indoor ones. Fertilization is suitable for fertilizing in combination with minerals.
At the end of the summer season - the beginning of the autumn season, it is advised to dive the bulbs. Preparing herbaceous for the winter season is fairly easy. They are covered with special material. The flowering process begins in the second - third spring month.
One-flowered ifheon is not the most famous plant in our time. But every year it is gaining more and more popularity.
