Pear Carmen is not very whimsical to soils, but it feels more comfortable growing in nutrient-rich and drained soils. Stagnant liquid and waterlogging can be very damaging to the pear. When planting a plant in sandy soil, peat is added to the hole (two buckets).
Since the crown is not spreading, the seedlings can be planted tightly. More than 1000 plants can be planted per hectare.
The optimal time for planting is October 1-15 and the first days of May.
The planting site should be located 3 m from the fence or other structures, and the site should also be on a dry plain and well lit by the sun.
The planting pit is prepared seven days before planting the pear. The hole diameter is 0.6-0.8 m, in depth it should be 1-1.2 m.
Before planting, 2 buckets of coarse sand and 2 buckets of compost are poured into the hole.
3 tbsp. l. potassium sulfate is mixed with the surface soil layer. After that, a lime solution is poured into the hole, which is prepared from 2 tbsp. lime mixed in 10 liters of water.
2 buckets of clean water are added to the hole. After 6-7 days, plants can be planted.
In the last winter days or the first spring, they form the crown of the tree - a circumcision procedure is carried out.
The most optimal method of watering a tree is by sprinkling.
For this purpose, a steady or spinning spray gun is used to simulate rain.
If you cannot do this, then dig a ditch around the circumference of the plant, 0.5 m wide, then water is poured into it.
Dosage of water - 20 l / 1 m2.
From 2 years after planting the tree, you need to feed it. Minerals are applied every year, organics - 1 time / 3 years.
Although the Carmen pear variety has good tolerance for the winter season, it still needs to be prepared for wintering. This is especially true for young pears.
To protect the Carmen pear from freezing, any covering material is used, as long as it is dry. You can also mulch the tree with straw, sawdust, spruce branches.
Diseases and pests
Carmen pear is resistant to scab and septoria.
Such pear varieties are immune to diseases: "Yakovlevskaya", "Wonderful", "Svetlyanka", "Bere Bosk", "Talgar beauty".
Pests that pose a danger to pears: hares and mice. They gnaw on the bark in winter. To protect the Carmen pear tree from these enemies, it is surrounded by ephedra branches.
