Pear Bere Dil: variety description and characteristics
The Bere Dil pear variety began to be distributed. So he became a resident of the North Caucasus, Ossetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Stavropol Territory. The Bere Dil variety received a rather great popularity and love in the south-west of Ukraine, in Moldova, in the republics of Asia and in Georgia.
In Russia, the Bere Dil pear variety began to spread back in the days of the Soviet Union. So, the first seeds, as a test, were brought in after the Second World War. Gardeners and summer residents appreciated the variety, since Russia in the second half of the twentieth century was very favorable for the growth of a thermophilic plant.
After some time, the Bere Dil pear variety became an official variety and work began to spread the variety throughout the country.
The tree grows very quickly, which is why gardeners love it so much. At a young age, the crown is wide, lush, of the correct pyramidal shape.
In height, the Bere Dil pear variety can reach nine to ten meters in height, but at the same time it causes great inconvenience not only during harvesting, but also when caring for the crown, since it is regularly necessary to carry out sanitary pruning.
In trees, by 6-8 years, and they can be considered adults, the crown remains lush, but the branches become shorter and slightly bent to the edges. Branches are dark gray with brown stripes.
Shoots are smooth, longitudinal, brownish-gray. On them are rare, but large lentils.
The leaves are very large, like all varieties of pears, finely serrated at the edges, they are both broadly oval and ovoid, but undoubtedly with a sharp thin top. The leaf petiole is long, which is a distinctive feature of the variety. Flowering time is average.
Features of the variety
Young trees of the Bere Dil pear variety are capable of growing fruits, each weighing up to 500 grams. In aged trees, the fruits are also large, but weigh 250 grams.
On average, the Bere Dil pear tree is capable of functioning for 50-52 years. But, of course, if well looked after, it can become a whole family heirloom.
The Bere Dil pear yields a good harvest at the very bloom, at the age of 25-35 years. Often the total weight of the crop reached 105-110 kilograms per tree. At an older age, the weight of the crop is significantly reduced, it rarely reaches more than 80 kilograms in total. By ten years of life, more than 50 kilograms can be harvested from one tree, and at the age of 14-15 this amount doubles.
In shape, they are more like an oval, with a slight outline of the transition, which resembles a pear-shaped shape. Fruit skin is green and very dense when photographed, while ripe fruit is bright yellow with rusty specks. The sides are ruddy, which is due to the location of the fruits in the brightly sunlit light. The peduncle is thick, of medium length, bends towards the fruit. The bell is much wider, located at the top end. The peduncle is located in a not very deep, slightly wavy funnel, which has an irregular shape.
The saucer is deep, the cup is large, open. The sepals are folded back, when the fruits are removed from the tree, they have a greenish tint, and when the fruits ripen, they acquire a brown tint. The heart is elongated, each cell is clearly visible. The seed chambers are large enough and well developed.
Seeds with a full axis, dark chestnut color, elongated with a pointed tip.The sub-cup tube is small and has an inverse conical shape.
The pulp of the Bere Dil pear variety is excellent. Moderately hard, white, moderately melts in the mouth. The fruit is juicy and sweet, slightly bitter. However, the distinctive taste will be inherent in the variety only with proper care.
Ovary, usually solitary. But on the tree, the fruits do not hold tightly enough, it easily falls with the handle. Collect in the second half of September. The fruits lie for about two months. At this time, their full maturation occurs.
The Bere Dil pear variety requires pollinators. So pollination has a good effect with the following varieties: Favorite Klapa, Saint-Germain and Bere Ardanpon. But the cultivar itself is not used as a pollinator because the pollen is not viable.
They plant trees on pear and quince. The period for which the tree will bear fruit depends on who was the source of grafting. So, a tree grafted on a pear bears fruit in the sixth and seventh year of life, and the quince promotes early fruiting, in the fourth, fifth year of life. After crossing the fruiting age, the harvest will be regular and abundant enough. Under the conditions in the Kuban, mature trees of the Bere Dil variety yield up to 100 kilograms per tree per year.
But there are also some troubles with varieties. For example, the soil should be of the best quality. Loam or sandy loam chernozems are the best soils for this tree.
If you do not monitor the condition of the soil, there will be problems. So, if the ground is not moist enough, the fruits will be small and begin to fall off even before the time of harvest. In addition to all this, they will be small and bitter.
If the soil is excessively wet, pears will be watery and more vulnerable to scab damage.
Pear variety Bere Dil is not suitable for cultivation in areas with severe winters, since its winter hardiness and cold tolerance are average. It is susceptible to lesions with scab and one leaf.
Pear Bere Dil: advantages and disadvantages
Undoubtedly dignity The Bere Dil pear variety is its high yield and large fruit.
