Mushroom bed

Paradoxically, not every summer resident loves, it would seem, the most "natural" hobbies. For example, fishing or hiking in the woods. For some, an alternative to the annual trip to the forest for mushrooms is a mushroom bed right in their own garden.

A place for growing mushrooms in a garden must be chosen taking into account how fertile the soil is and how moist it is.

The ideal place for a mushroom bed should be in the shade - you can plant mushrooms near the wall of the house, fence, or near trees. However, you still need to retreat a small distance from them (fifty centimeters will be enough). It is also important to take into account the fact that forest mushrooms do not tolerate close proximity to fruit trees.

The best option for the mushroom bed to be created quickly and correctly would be planting mushrooms near the breed near which they grew in the forest thicket (boletus mushrooms are best planted under a birch, boletus boletus should be planted under an aspen, and so on). Of course, this is all in theory.

When it comes to the practice of creating a mushroom garden, such an opportunity is not always and not for everyone, because those who dream of planting, for example, a boletus, are unlikely to find an aspen in their summer cottage. In this case, you need to act according to the conditions that the garden plot has.

In order to grow mushrooms in a mushroom bed with spores, it is not at all necessary to buy a mycelium. You can independently sow spores that have already ripened in the caps of forest mushrooms. For this, only overripe hats are suitable, and even wormy ones - that is, those that you would not cut off in the forest and put in a mushroom basket.

These mushrooms need to be brought to the garden, put in a container suitable in size and volume, and pour rain or river water on top. After that, there are several options for further actions.

You can add a few large tablespoons of sugar to the rainwater, or you can use a ready-made kvass starter, then thoroughly knead the mushroom caps until they look like a homogeneous mass.

The mass is allowed to brew for at least a day (ideally, two or three weeks), while not forgetting to thoroughly mix the mass every few days. After the mixture has been infused, it must be filtered through a coarse or medium sieve.

You do not need to use what remains at the bottom of the container, since only on top is the ready-made liquid with the spores you need. After that, the liquid must again be additionally diluted with plain water and the ready-made infusion to water those places on the site where you would like to see a mushroom clearing in the future.

You also need a suitable day for planting a mushroom bed. Cool weather is obligatory, or better, evening hours.

You can create a mushroom garden in a specially chosen place. To do this, it is necessary to cut off the sod from a previously looked after place (it is better to do this with an ordinary kitchen knife), pour over the prepared solution, the recipe for which was described above, and then cover the moist soil with recently cut sod.

As you know, mushrooms are very fond of moisture, so do not forget about regular watering of the future meadow. If you sprinkle the chosen area with fallen leaves a little, the mushrooms will adapt much more easily to the new home. To be on the safe side, you can add another layer of leaves before winter.

Another way to plant mushrooms in your garden is easier. It consists in the fact that a ready-made mycelium is brought from the forest to the garden. It is enough to dig out small areas of the mycelium, which should be wrapped at the same minute with moss or a damp cloth, then be sure to tightly wrapped in cellophane.At the place chosen for planting, the mycelium should be laid in the previously dug holes, covering it with turf on top.

However, there are also some nuances here. If you complete this whole process during a drought or do not water the place abundantly in time, then in the future you will have to very often spray this piece of land with water (and after all, not all gardeners have such an opportunity, especially those who come to the garden only on weekends , during free time from work).

If at your summer cottage you want to grow mushrooms on a mushroom bed, you need to cut down a little dry tree, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the mushrooms, and put the cut part in the shade at the summer cottage, periodically watering and allowing complete drying.

Even if the saw cut from the tree completely crumbles, you should not be upset, because in the future this can turn out to be a whole garden with mushrooms, which is usually covered with wet moss for better adaptation of honey agaric.

Just a little effort, and soon a mushroom bed will appear in your garden, healthy mushrooms will settle, which, with proper care, will turn out to be very tasty and healthy.
