Hydrangea pink
Content:
All flower plants, grown in plots or flower beds, always decorate the place in which they grow. They make it cozier and add flavor. Flowers and shrubs in various combinations look especially beautiful. Very often, a beautiful flower is chosen to decorate the territory, which has interesting, wide foliage, while the leaf is sufficiently elongated on one side. It's about hydrangea. Pink hydrangea is very beautiful, therefore it is often planted in order to make the territory more colorful.
Description
A very popular species is the Pink Hydrangea, which was bred a long time ago. Originally the variety was called Anabel, but in Russia the name was changed.
This plant belongs to deciduous shrubs. The roots of the hydrangea are quite short, so they do not go deep, but remain at a close distance from the ground. Hydrangea has thin and curved stems that are usually about 40 centimeters high. The foliage has a dark shade of green, a separate leaf is small, on one side it is slightly elongated and pointed. Hydrangea flowers are small, mostly 15 millimeters wide, but due to the fact that inflorescences are formed from these flowers, the plant looks very beautiful and harmonious. The flowering period is in July and ends in October. The flowers have a sharp, pronounced aroma.
Hydrangea pink planting
Before planting a plant in open ground, you need to prepare a planting site that will fully meet all the criteria. You also need to choose the time at which the landing will be made.
Since hydrangea is a plant that loves warmth and light, the site should be well lit. At best, this will be a semi-shaded area. But in no case should you plant a hydrangea in the shade, since the color of the flowers will become dimmer, and the plant will look sluggish, the flowers can also become 2 times smaller and begin to fall off due to lack of sunlight. There must be good soil on the site. Loamy, drained, acidic or slightly acidic soil is perfect. Planting should be carried out strictly in the spring. At this time, the earth is well warmed up, so the flower will quickly take root in place.
Planting should be carried out after the weather has stabilized and during the growing season near the hydrangea.
After planting, do not forget about soil moisture, this is a very important criterion, since hydrangea moisture is necessary. Due to the short root system, it is difficult for her to obtain moisture, so watering must be abundant and regular, and watering must not be forgotten. Top dressing should also be applied frequently enough to promote longer flowering and well-being of the crop. After each watering, the soil should be loosened so that oxygen has access to the root system. Before frosts, it is necessary to cover the plant in order to protect it from frostbite and death. Usually, a thick layer of earth is used in the shelter.
Reproduction methods
This culture can multiply in 3 ways.
1.Use of cuttings.
In this method, cuttings are used - these are the upper parts of the shrub, usually having 2 or 3 leaf nodes. It is necessary to retreat a couple of centimeters from the lowest node and cut it off, always obliquely. Then all the sheets that are on the first node must be removed completely, and the remaining ones must be cut by half. All leaves should not be removed, since thanks to them the functioning of the cuttings begins, in the process of photosynthesis. In the presence of leaves, the hydrangea spends all its efforts on the formation of the root system, and not on the growth of foliage.
After preparing the cutting, you need to prepare a pot in which it will grow. The pot must be filled with infertile soil, usually a large amount of sand is poured into the pot. Then cuttings are inserted into this sand, about 5 centimeters deep and watered by the foliar method. Then they equip a small greenhouse so that rooting occurs faster. Then the pot is removed to a dark and warm place.
Note: Watering the cutting can only be done by foliar method, otherwise it will die.
Note: Instead of a pot, you can use another convenient container, ordinary plastic glasses can serve for it.
2.Use of layering.
When propagating by layering, it must be borne in mind that the cutting must form a root system before frosts come. From this it follows that planting should be carried out in spring or early summer. Before you carry out the layering, you need to prepare the soil. It must be well loosened and pits about 4 centimeters deep. Before the buds begin to bloom, it is necessary to bury the layers in this hole. The top of the layer should be left on the surface; it is recommended to tie it to a small pillar. After the vertical shoots begin to grow, it is necessary to hilling, and then wait for the autumn period, when the root system is formed. After your own root system appears, you can transplant the plant to its own place.
3.Use of seeds.
The seeds of this culture are very small in size, but in very large quantities. They appear in several boxes, which are usually small, about two centimeters. Seed size is about 2 millimeters. Full ripening of seeds is achieved in autumn, so they must be sown immediately.
Before planting, you need to prepare the soil. Preparation consists in introducing leafy soil, peat and river sand in a ratio of 8: 4: 2 into the soil.
It is very difficult and time-consuming to grow a hydrangea in this way, so in order to make planting at least a little easier, you need to follow the planting instructions.
- First, you should lower the seeds into the soil.
- The seeds are covered with pre-prepared soil.
- Then watering is carried out by foliar method using a garden spray bottle.
- Then the area where the planting was carried out must be covered with a film to create a greenhouse.
- The container must be removed in a dark and warm place, until the first shoots appear.
Note: The soil must be well moistened, but only using the foliar method.
Sprouts will begin to appear 60 to 80 days after planting.
After the cotyledon leaves begin to form, it is necessary to dive. After 5 leaves appear, you also need to dive, usually this happens in the May period. After picking, it is best to transplant the crops into different pots.
After two picks, you need to start preparing the plant for planting in open ground. Preparation consists in hardening the culture by placing it in fresh air. Hardening is a fairly long process that takes a long time, since hardening must be done gradually. It usually takes about 25-30 days for hardening. To begin with, the plant is exposed to fresh air for 20 minutes, then for more time, ending with 24 hours.
It is necessary to take out the plant in the evening, when there is no scorching sun that can harm the culture.
You should also remove flowers that will begin to appear. This is necessary so that the plant spends all its energy on growth, and not on the formation of flowers. Usually the culture grows at home for about two years, and then transplanted into fresh air.
Hydrangea pink transplant
Before transplanting, you must carefully prepare the soil of the site.Preparation consists in installing a drainage system, which can be made of expanded clay or broken brick, usually the layer is about 10 centimeters. The introduction of superphosphate in the amount of 70 grams, potash dressing in the amount of 30 grams, nitrogen fertilizers in the amount of 30 grams, peat and humus should also be carried out.
Hydrangea pink care
Hydrangea is a crop that only needs basic care but must be done carefully. With good basic care, the culture will feel great and bloom colorfully, pleasing the eye of its owner.
- First, it is necessary to carry out high-quality watering. When the plant becomes adult, and this happens at 4-5 years of growth in the soil, it needs about 45 liters of water twice in 7 days. When irrigating, only warm and deconstructed water should be used. If watering is incorrect, for example, it is done with cold water or is irregular and scarce, then the culture will begin to suffer from chlorosis and other diseases. Also, do not forget about mulching, which should be done every time after adding moisture to the soil. It allows water and heat to be retained in the soil, preventing them from evaporating.
- It is imperative to loosen the soil, since oxygen is good for the development and growth of the plant. It is necessary to loosen the soil 3-6 times per season, the depth of loosening is usually about 4 centimeters. Since the root system is close to the soil surface, loosening is done very carefully, so that the roots are intact.
- The third important step in maintenance is sanitary pruning. Pruning greatly affects the growth and development of the hydrangea, and especially the appearance of the flower. In the autumn, it is necessary to carry out the pruning process, it is necessary to remove all dry shoots, leaves, as well as twigs that have at least some breaks. This will protect the plant from large floors in winter.
In spring, pruning is carried out in the same way, removing excess parts of the plant. - The final step in the care will be the application of fertilizers. Top dressing is necessary in order for the culture to function well. Fertilizers are usually applied about 2-4 times per season. Before flowering, fertilizing is used from urea and water, in a ratio of 2: 1.
After the flowering process of the culture has ended, it is also necessary to apply fertilizers. Only during this period, complex feeding is used, which immediately includes several components. Throughout the summer, you can carry out two fertilization using manure.
Note: Organic fertilizing should be applied carefully and in the correct amount, since with an excess of fertilizer, the stems will begin to break due to overfed inflorescences.
