Gomeza: characteristic of the plant
Gomeza prefers the choice of soil to the substrate for orchids. The flowering process takes place from the second winter month to the first winter month. The color palette of gomeza comes in two colors, namely greenish or yellow. A medium amount of light is needed, direct sunlight does not harm the grassy for several hours, it is better to place the plant on the east or west side. Moisturizing must be done systematically and abundantly, moisten more than three times in seven days. The complexity of agricultural technology lies in the fact that gomeza is a whimsical plant, it is necessary to install a shelter, additional artificial lighting. The level of moisture in the air must be high, sixty percent or more is permissible, the plant grows naturally in the tropics. Feeding is necessary often. It is necessary to store the plant at a temperature of eighteen degrees to twenty-five degrees.

Initially, the name "gomeza" had about thirteen varieties of orchids, nowadays their number has increased almost tenfold. The reason for serious variations was scientific work, as a result of which a couple of varieties ended their existence. In our time, the name "gomeza" is borne by orchids, which were previously called "baptistoni", "ornithophores", "rodrigueziella" and "rodrigueziopsis". A couple more varieties have ceased to exist from the Oncidium family.
The genus "Gomeza" of the "Orchidaceae" family was named after a physician from Portugal, as well as a specialist in the field of botany, B. A. Gomes.
Each member of the Gomeza family is a sympodial orchid that grows in South America. Plants, which have been growing for several years, grow in mountainous areas and plains, in the vicinity of waters and swamps. Most of the species originated in Brazil. It can be found in the territories of Argentina, Bolivia, Venezuela, Peru, Uruguay, Paraguay and Colombia.
A rather rare exception is that plants of the genus "Gomeza" have chosen epiphytic growth. The elongated snow-white root system covers the trunks and shoots of trees or just hangs.
Small representatives of the genus "Gomeza" and seventy-centimeter plants are known. The shape of the pseudobulb changes, there is a regular oval and an inverse egg. False bulbs, usually pressed laterally, form from one to four apical leaflets. Leaves are leathery, linear-lanceolate with sharp bases and a strongly convex median vein. The leaves have a varied greenish color palette: from dark to olive.
Elongated, uneven peduncle from the base of the pseudobulb. In single specimens, the flower arrow has three to four buds, in others it is found more than sixty. Gomeza's flowers are yellowish, snow-white, green, usually with brown dots. The color palette, shape, dimensions of sepals and petals are most often identical. The lip looking forward is decorated with rich spots and stripes.
There are varieties of Gomeza with unusual flowers, very similar to different shapes. Usually they are called "little people".
Representatives of this genus Gomez will decorate any room, reward gardeners with their appearance with a rather long flowering process and an exquisite smell. In addition to varieties, natural and selective varieties are known.
Gomeza: planting a plant
When cultivating Gomeza, it is necessary to take into account the specifics of the native regions, the weather conditions. The state of the herbaceous depends solely on the correct selected temperature indicator (optimal or warm).
These plants grow well in containers with a small drainage layer.
There is also the option of storing representatives of this genus in small plastic containers or made of clay with many holes.
We recommend using orchid soil as an earthen mixture. When cooking with your own hand, it is necessary to mix pine bark, perlite and charcoal.
It is difficult to change the place of growth of Gomeza, which means that it is recommended not to subject them to this procedure unless urgently needed. The transplant is carried out exclusively at the moment when the container becomes too small or the soil needs to be replaced.
Breeding Gomeza is carried out by dividing the bush. To multiply the collection, it is possible to select only old strong plants. The procedure is performed with disinfected instruments, the sections are lubricated with crushed coal. Do not forget that all divided parts must have at least three false bulbs.
Various diseases and parasites
Rot and spider mites are found.

Representatives of the Gomeza genus, who love sunlight, are strictly prohibited from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. It is recommended to locate these plants on the east and west sides. The lack of natural light can be compensated for with artificial lighting.
Moisten Gomez constantly with a small amount of soft liquid. The water should be warm. When cultivating this herbaceous in containers, the procedure is advised to be performed in the morning.
Watering Gomeza must be done exclusively at a high temperature indicator. The selection between spraying with a spray bottle or purchasing with a humidifier is only at the request of the gardener. In any case, it is necessary to provide the room with fresh air. For the summer season, it is allowed to transfer containers to a windowsill or to a garden with the necessary organization of partial shading and shelter of the plant from precipitation.
In the process of abundant growth, Gomez is fertilized twice - three times in thirty days with dressings for orchids, it is recommended to change the foliar dressing and root dressing. At the end of the flowering process, the peduncle must be removed.
Some herbaceous cope without a state of rest, others immediately after the flowering process require rest. For the first type, the instruction on agricultural technology does not change for twelve months. The second type is currently lowering the temperature regime of the air and stored in a dry mode.
Growing pitfalls
Pitfalls in the cultivation of gomeza usually appear when advice on agricultural technology is not followed. The acquisition of a yellowish color by the leaves indicates an overabundance of light, the falling of the buds indicates the presence of an excessive amount of winds. Excessive fertilization leads to cracking of the pseudobulb. Varieties that are not rested do not produce a flowering process. Weak plants are also quite attractive to parasites.
Gomeses are easier to tolerate temporary drought than excessive watering. Waterlogging, accumulation of liquid in the soil, the use of ice liquid leads to rotting of the root system, pseudobulbs and foliage. At the first signs of disease, an instant change in the place of growth and cleaning of the infected parts are required.
Sometimes Gomeza does not produce the flowering process due to lack of phosphorus. The use of dressings with a high phosphorus content will help to deal with the problem.
