Some of its types
The most common types of philodendron are ivy philodendron, climbing philodendron, blushing philodendron and bipinnate philodendron.
Growing a philodendron at home and planting trees in a room will not be so difficult if you follow all the rules. If you do everything according to the instructions, then your room will look very beautiful and unusual, thanks to this vine.
Philodendron: 12 rules for care
Here are 12 easy rules for growing and caring for this flower:
1. You need to choose the right place where the flower will stand. It depends on the type of your plant, because some love the shade, others, on the contrary, the sun.
2. The shadow also has boundaries, even if the plant is light-loving, then it should not be direct sunlight, but a little diffused lighting.
3. If there is not enough light in your room, then it is possible, and even necessary, to use artificial lighting.
4. The minimum temperature for growing philodendrons is 13 degrees, but the most optimal for them is 18-20 degrees. This temperature will get rid of many problems when growing a philodendron. But if the temperature goes up to 25 degrees, then it will be almost impossible to preserve all the decorative beauty of the flower. Yes, and temperature drops have a bad effect on the plant, so you need to make sure that it is stable.
5. Despite the fact that many indoor flowers are grown in the fresh air in the summer, on the balcony, and many creepers feel very well there, this cannot be done with a philodendron. After all, this flower does not tolerate drafts at all.
6. In a philodendron, regardless of its type, the land should always be moist. After the previous watering, the ground should dry out no more than 2 cm in depth. It is especially necessary to water rhododendron in summer. If you watered a flower, and the water from the pot has flowed out into the pan under it, then it must be poured out immediately.
7. It is absolutely important for all vines to humidify the air in the room, and you need to use supports under the stems, preferably they are covered with a cloth, or something similar, and always wet. It is not recommended to spray the philodendron to moisturize it; it is best to place containers with water in the secluded corners of the room, which, when evaporated, will humidify the air. By the way, often wipe the leaves of the flower from dust, and then they will be brighter.
8. There is no need to rush to transplant a flower into another pot, they do this no more than once every three years, since philodendrons do not like transplanting. It is generally necessary to transplant a flower very carefully so that all the earth remains on the roots, and at the end of the transplant, it is imperative to pinch off all the elongated shoots. Every year, up to 5 cm of new soil should be added to the flower pot.
9.Filodendromes need to be fertilized frequently, about once every two weeks, starting in March and ending in September. But this must be done very carefully so as not to exaggerate the dose of feeding. The first time after transplanting, you need to feed the flower only after 6 weeks, and the dose should be half the usual. And after another two weeks, the second part of the dressing is introduced, and only after two weeks they begin to make a standard dose. If there is little fertilization, or vice versa, too much, then the leaves will be lethargic and begin to turn yellow. And the most important rule of feeding is that fertilizers are applied only after watering.
10. If something is wrong with the flower and there is a problem, it is immediately visible on the leaves of the plant. Whether it is insufficient watering, not enough fertilizer or too much fertilizer, some kind of disease - this is always visible on the leaves, which change color, turn yellow, dry and wither. You will immediately see what you made a mistake and you can immediately fix it by saving the plant.
11. Plants should be regularly inspected, including on the other side of the leaves. If you see black spots on the leaves, then this means one of three: excess moisture, infestation with ticks or aphids, or sooty fungus. If you notice this stain, then you need to urgently adjust the watering of the plant, and treat the flower with an insecticide or acaricide against parasites.
12. You can propagate a philodendron only by cuttings. It is necessary to cut cuttings up to 15 cm long, preferably cut off from the side branches, then it will take root faster. You need to immediately plant the cutting in moist soil and monitor the temperature so that it is no more than 22 degrees. The ground should always be moist, and it is better to keep the pot with the cuttings in partial shade.
If you follow all these simple rules, then your green handsome man will delight you with a long, very long flowering and beauty for many years.
