Violet Gold of the Nibelungs
Content:
Violet Gold of the Nibelungs is considered Saintpaulia, otherwise a variety of varietal indoor flower, popularly called violet. Saintpaulias have their own belonging to the genus Gesneriaceae. Saintpaulia differs from real varieties of violets in that it is a rather thermophilic culture, Africa is considered its homeland, due to which it cannot grow in open areas, where a northern and temperate climate prevails. Plus, Violet Gold of the Nibelungs is a rather whimsical culture that requires serious conditions of care and maintenance, although with quality care it can delight and delight the gardener with an abundant and long flowering period.
The violet variety Gold of the Nibelungs appeared not so long ago, in 2015, thanks to the breeder Elena Lebetskaya. In addition to this subspecies, she bred several more varieties of Saintpaulias, which bear the prefix "Le" in their name, after the first syllable of the scientist's surname.
Violet Gold of the Nibelungs: description of the variety and characteristics
Violet Gold of the Nibelungs has a slightly fabulous name, because the Nibelungs are the royal Germanic dynasty of the Medieval time, which had a huge amount of treasures, about which a large number of legends were composed. Therefore, it can be assumed that it is precisely because of its beautiful and interesting external qualities that the violet received such a name. The rosette of this flower has a rich yellow hue and is edged along the edges in the form of a thin strip of sky-blue color. The flower petals are not torn at the edges, they look like decorated with fringe, making it seem that the shape of the flower is similar to a precious crystal. This flower quickly gained popularity and love, mainly due to its unusual beauty. Today, this plant serves as a decoration for private collections of indoor flowers throughout the world.

The Violet variety Gold of the Nibelungs, like other Saintpaulias, is perfect for ready-made violet soil, which can be easily purchased at the store. But before you buy such a primer, pay special attention to its shade. Ideally, it should be brown in color, with peat fibers. But experienced flower growers are not very fond of advising ready-made soil, because of the disadvantages it has, such as:
- This soil has not been sterilized, which may well have a negative impact on the chemical composition of the soil.
- Such soil may contain parasites.
- There are no guarantees that all proportions of fertilizers will be observed (some components may be in excess, while others may not be enough at all), and this will have a rather bad effect on the growth and color of this crop.
- In soil, where the price is relatively low, peat can be of rather low quality, due to which it can quickly turn sour.
The best option for the Violet variety Gold of the Nibelungs would be a self-prepared soil. But it needs to be done with some conditions fulfilled. First, it should be noted that the soil must be loose enough so that air and moisture can easily penetrate to the roots of the plant. The composition of such soil should include: three parts of leafy soil and rotted foliage, one part of coniferous soil, one part of peat and two parts of turf. For better air exchange, coconut fiber can be added to the soil, although it does not contain useful substances and can only serve as an additional component. Vermiculite, river sand, perlite and sphagnum can be used as a baking powder for this variety.
Violet Gold of the Nibelungs: variety care
In order for the violet Le Gold of the Nibelungs to be able to delight you with its beautiful appearance and wonderful aroma, for its cultivation, the flower should be provided with a high temperature. This culture feels great at air temperatures from +19 to +24 degrees. It is worth noting that this flower is categorically bad for drought and through winds. The soil in a container with this flower should be regularly moist. For the irrigation procedure, use only settled clean liquid at room temperature. Note that watering must be done very carefully, so that the liquid does not fall on the flower itself, but only on the ground. For a lush and abundant color, the culture needs an additional source of illumination; for this, special fluorescent lamps for flowers are suitable. In winter, the duration of such lighting should be at least 12 hours a day. Even in the winter season, it is required to reduce the amount of watering, and in the summer season, this flower needs to be covered at midday from exposure to direct sunlight, which is extremely harmful for this culture. For a regular color of this plant, it is advised to put the flower on the windowsill on the west or east side of the house. In order to have a place for uniform illumination, the pot with the plant is constantly turned over to the light on different sides. Transplanting the violet variety Le Gold of the Nibelungs should be done once a year, with a complete change of soil and the transplant container should be about two centimeters wider than the previous one. In this case, the flower will spend its energy on color, and not on the growth of green mass and root branching. If you notice that the flowers of the plant are very low and cannot rise above the foliage, then this means that the culture has overtaken a disease and it lacks something, another reason for this may be an attack of harmful insects, for example, spider mites, but in this case, you will notice a thin cobweb on the plant. To get rid of these pests, it is required to treat the flower with acaricides, for example, Apollo, Masai and others. It is also worth noting the fact that in order to form a beautiful bush, only one outlet should be left in the container, and all the remaining ones should be removed.
Reproduction methods

To get shoots from the violet variety Gold of the Nibelungs should be done in the same way as for other subspecies of Saintpaulia. To propagate and grow this plant, you only need one leaf of it, and it will be best if this leaf is from the central part of the outlet, and it is middle-aged (not old and not quite young). Another main factor is that the plant from which the leaf was taken is flowering and completely healthy. Violet Gold of the Nibelungs after the flowering period, or emaciated will not be able to give good offspring. At the selected leaf, the cut should be processed, for this a manganese solution or coal powder is used, and then put it in a container with water. This is done so that the leaf can take root. Despite the fact that the leaf is quite viable, after 2.5 weeks it will be able to give roots, then it can already be transplanted into the soil. Not often, but Saintpaulias can still be bred with part of the leaf. A part of the leaf is taken, about 40 millimeters, after which it is planted in moist soil. A stand is placed under this leaf so that the leaf rises above the ground. After that, the leaf should be provided with a temperature regime of about 31 degrees, sufficient lighting and moderate watering, so that this leaf takes root well. It is worth noting that this method of reproduction cannot give a 100% successful outcome. There is another method of breeding violets Le Gold of the Nibelungs - this is seed. Before receiving the seeds, pollination of flowering crops should be done, for this we carefully remove the stamen from the testis and pour its contents onto the previously prepared paper, after which we begin to plant the pollen on the stigma of the pistil. If during the period of one and a half weeks there was an increase in the size of the ovary, then the pollination process was quite successful. The seeds then mature for a period of 6 to 9 months. Thanks to this, it is possible to obtain a new plant, and even a new subspecies. But it is worth noting that this method can only be performed by a fairly experienced florist, and the first time it does not always work.
