Growing a violet is not so easy. This culture requires careful care, therefore, it will not work to count on lush flowering without observing the rules of agricultural technology. Violet Amadeus is considered a very beautiful variety of violets, which stands out from the rest for its stunning appearance. The flowers of the violet Amadeus are bright crimson, and the rim of the petals is snow-white, as you understand, the appearance of these plants is more than unusual, so growers love to grow violets of this variety.
Violet Amadeus: variety description and characteristics
Violet Amadeus: video about the variety
Violet Amadeus bred by breeder K. Morev. Moreover, relatively recently, several years ago. The leaves of this Saintpaulia are rich green, the rosette is neat, dense. In diameter, the plant can form foliage up to 40 cm, so this violet can be considered more than large. The shoots of the violet Amadeus Moreva are also high. The foliage is long, slightly downward. The petals of the plants are terry, the edges are painted in a red-crimson color, and a beautiful snow-white border is formed on the sides of the petals, which goes inward. Therefore, the violet Amadeus has a stunning appearance. At first, these violets have larger, wavy petals. However, over time, Saintpaulia becomes smaller, the flowers become less voluminous and double. In the opened state, the bud reaches almost 10 cm in diameter.Another interesting feature of this plant is that as the violet grows, the color of the flowers changes, especially the temperature regime, namely its change, affects this. If it is cool in your room, then the petals will most likely be dark crimson, and if the air temperature rises, then these flowers will turn soft pink. This is how the violet reacts unusually to changes in external conditions. Saintpaulia blooms annually, but in winter, violets usually do not form flowers, the plant rests at this time. But in spring, summer and autumn, saintpaulia can delight you with its bright inflorescences. If you live in southern latitudes, then the Amadeus violet can bloom in winter, so everything depends on the state of the surrounding nature. The roots of the plants are taproots, slightly branched, the main root is one, however, lateral roots grow on the sides of the root system. The stem is erect in plants, sometimes creeping. As we noted earlier, the foliage of mature bushes is dark green, fluff and pile are evenly located on the surface of the leaf plates, and the foliage of young violets is lighter.

You can plant Amadeus violets at different times of the year. And for the cultivation of these plants, they usually acquire a ready-made soil mixture, however, you can mix the soil yourself. It is recommended to add vermiculite and peat to the garden soil. Sometimes baking powder is also added to the soil mixture. The soil must be uniform, loose and nutritious. Before planting the CM Amadeus violets, you can heat the ground for several hours in the oven. In order to get rid of dangerous microorganisms, you can freeze the soil for several days. If you do not want to prepare the soil for planting plants for too long, you can treat the soil with a solution of potassium permanganate, this will also disinfect the mixture. Pots for planting violets should be small, 4 cm pots are usually chosen in diameter. If you plant an Amadeus pink violet in a large container, then moisture in the soil will linger more often, which means that the root system of the plant will rot. Another disadvantage is that during the planting of plants in large pots, the ground part of the seedlings suffers. Feeling free space around itself, the violet gives all its strength to the formation of roots, but its shoots and flowers are formed worse. The violet fills the free surrounding space for too long, which means that the plant develops upward worse, or rather, its growth becomes out of proportion. Plants need to be transplanted as needed, each new pot should be several centimeters larger than the previous one, and violets are usually transplanted annually. It is best to place pots of violets on the west or east windows. The fact is that these plants feel fine only in a well-lit place, while the light must be diffused. Direct sunlight harms the foliage and flowers of plants, so if you place violets on the south side, then you need to darken the plants in time, on a hot afternoon the sun's rays burn the delicate foliage, so pay attention to this fact. You can also grow Saintpaulia on the northern window, but in this case you will have to additionally illuminate the plants, since it is from the north side that the plant usually lacks the sun. In winter, all violets are recommended to be illuminated. For normal growth and development, these plants need to take sun baths for 10-12 hours. If we talk about the temperature regime, then the violet grows well and develops at + 22-25 degrees. In winter, plus 18 is enough for this plant, but in the spring-summer period the air temperature should not rise above + 30 degrees. Do not forget that drafts negatively affect the growth of violets. These plants also cannot stand sharp fluctuations in air temperature. The air in the room should also be humid enough, if the plants do not have enough water, they will die. With a large lack of moisture, the flowers become smaller, and the foliage slopes down. If the air humidity in your apartment is low, then you can buy an automatic humidifier, or you can simply place a tray of water near the plants. However, remember that you cannot spray the Amadeus pink violet, as this often causes foliage and shoots to rot.
Violet Amadeus: care

It is believed that the violet should be transplanted annually, since the root system of plants grows more than intensively. The size of each new pot should be slightly larger than the previous one. However, you need to remember: the rosette of the flower in the new pot should not feel too loose, since the violet in this case may not bloom at all. It is imperative to transplant the culture very carefully so as not to damage the roots. The best way to do this is through transshipment. Plants are transplanted into a new pot along with a whole earthy clod. Before proceeding with this procedure, you need to prepare a container, the pot is treated with either alcohol or potassium permanganate, namely with a solution. Do not forget to lay a drainage layer at the bottom, as you remember, the violet does not like waterlogging, so the water in the pot should not stagnate. After the drainage layer, you can fill in the soil mixture, this layer should be no more than 5 cm thick. If the soil was caked in the previous pot, then the violet root system can be washed before planting in a new pot. It is advisable to remove all deformed and damaged roots, however, if the earthen lump is in order, then you do not need to rinse the roots, this can harm the plant. Perform all work carefully, remove damaged parts with a disinfected tool. The Saintpaulia should be placed in a new pot so that the plant is in the center, the cavities are filled with fresh soil. After transplanting, be sure to water the plant with warm water; it is recommended to put the pots on the windowsill, where the diffused light is concentrated. It is best to prune the bushes in the spring, summer and fall.During dormancy, you do not need to disturb the plant. During pruning, only deformed leaves and shoots, old buds, and diseased leaves should be removed. Sometimes experienced florists at the beginning of the growing season remove all shoots from the bottom of the rosette in order for the violet to develop more intensively in the future. Fertilizers can be applied to the soil annually, but this should not be done in winter. It is best to use complex feeding, which will contain all the useful elements. Usually, violets are fed no more than twice a month, but if necessary, you can fertilize the soil more often. Many growers turn to folk remedies by adding citrus peel or tea to the soil. During dormancy, it is undesirable to add fertilizing plants to the soil, therefore, complete all work before the arrival of winter. In the spring, it is best to add nitrogen to the soil, which allows the culture to grow green mass, to form new foliage and shoots. In summer, it is advisable to feed the violets with mineral fertilizers containing potassium and phosphorus. This promotes the formation of flower buds and the lush flowering of the plant. In many horticultural centers special fertilizers are sold for violets, you can easily use this type of dressing, but always watch the concentration, you cannot apply too much fertilizer to the soil. And do not forget that about a month before the planned transplantation date, it is also undesirable to apply fertilizer to the soil, if it is too cold or too hot in your room, then you should not feed the bushes either. And carefully inspect the plants, as violets are often attacked by pests. It is best to apply fertilizer to the soil either early in the morning or late in the evening, and the fertilizing should not fall on the green parts of the plants, since the violet can thus get burned. It is recommended to feed crops only when ultraviolet light does not actively affect the plants. It will be necessary to irrigate the soil quite intensively, but not abundantly. And it is better, of course, to use a cloth strip or tray for watering, plants usually take as much liquid as they need. Make sure that moisture does not get on the foliage and shoots of plants, this negatively affects the development of culture. It is best to use settled, warm water for irrigation. If you water the plant with a watering can, be careful not to get moisture on the foliage. But it is best to use the bottom watering method. To do this, water is poured into the trays so that the pot with the violet sinks into the liquid a few centimeters, the container should be there for 20-30 minutes. During this time, the violet will be saturated with moisture, then what kind of watering is best done up to 2 times a week. Sometimes experienced flower growers also wash the foliage of the plant, but it is very risky to spray the leaves from a spray bottle, so if you do not have a lot of gardening experience, then it is better not to do this, when waterlogged, the violet begins to rot. If moisture does get on the foliage, then remove all droplets with a cotton cloth, and do it very carefully.
Reproduction of violets of the CM Amadeus pink variety

Violets Amadeus pink are usually propagated either by seeds or by cuttings. However, propagation by cuttings is considered the most effective. In order to propagate the plant in this way, you need to separate the healthy leaf that is located on the lower rows of the plant. The incision must be oblique and the instrument must be infected. After that, the leaf is placed either in a specially prepared soil mixture or in water. After a month or two, a root system begins to form on the leaf, in order for this process to proceed more intensively, you can treat the lower part of the cutting with a growth stimulator. When the root system is well formed, the violet can be planted in a small pot.
Pests and diseases of the violet CM Amadeus

Amadeus pink violets do not have a very high immunity, so you need to be especially careful about them. Plants usually get sick when they are improperly cared for or transplanted into the wrong containers. In order to get rid of many negative consequences, it is necessary to adjust the system of care measures. Sometimes violets suffer from spider mites, powdery mildew, as well as from some other pests and diseases. If the violet is sick, then it is best to treat the plant with fungicides, which are sold in any gardening store. But you will have to get rid of pests manually, if the plant gets sick too much, then this flower may die. When the foliage and shoots of violets begin to rot, this indicates excessive waterlogging of the soil or air, and the disease is called late blight. In order to get rid of this infection, you will need to adjust the watering regime, treat the culture with an appropriate preparation and transplant it into a new pot with clean soil. If you notice that only the root system of the violet Amadeus Moreva is rotting, then this indicates that harmful elements have accumulated in the soil, so the violet needs to be urgently transplanted. Do not forget about biological pest and disease control products, they are also sold in many agricultural stores. In general, it should be noted: the Amadeus violet, although capricious, is very beautiful, so at least you should try to grow this plant.
