When compared with parents, for example, with raspberries, ezemalina brings more harvest, has more juice in the fruits, and the taste is softer and sweeter. It should be noted a huge variety of vitamins, useful microelements, for example: B1, B2, B3, C, E, PP, K, iron, copper, phosphorus, manganese, citric acid, malic acid.
In order to have such a miracle berry in your summer cottage or suburban area, you first need to find out everything about it.
Ezhemalina: briefly about the plant
With the fusion of two well-known plants, namely blackberry and raspberry, the selection species inherited their characteristics and taste, sweet and sour at the same time. In many ways, ezemalina surpasses its parents, for example, in the size of berries, a larger amount of harvest, and unpretentiousness. The most famous variety of this plant is "Tayberry", which grows in its homeland - Scotland. Among the advantages, one cannot fail to single out a high yield, a high level of disease resistance and resistance to attacks of parasites, which means that you should not waste your time and effort on prevention. There are no preferences when choosing a soil, you can use any.
In medicine, the value of ezhemalina has long been understood, adding it to your diet allows you to strengthen blood vessels, relieve irritation and inflammation, reduce the level of sclerosis, and increase the strength of nails and teeth.
A simple instruction for growing jemalina
The site chosen for planting the plant should be with sufficient sunshine and free from strong and cold winds. When this plant is placed in places with partial or complete shade, it will die or give a poor harvest. It is recommended to choose a soil with a high mineral content and permeable air. Experienced gardeners and summer residents advise planting ezhemalin at the end of the first autumn month or at the beginning of the second autumn month.
Planting holes must be prepared in advance, the approximate size is forty centimeters long, forty centimeters wide, forty centimeters deep. The same planting holes are made for raspberries. The space between the plants should be left about one meter apart.
Ezhemalina: proper plant care
As mentioned above, this plant does not need special complex care. However, to maintain health and improve the quality of the crop, you must adhere to simple rules of care.
Most importantly, do not purchase or pour organic fertilizer into the planting hole, as it lowers the plant's level of frost resistance.
After you have planted the ezemalina in the planting hole, moisten the soil abundantly and mulch. On especially hot days, the soil should be moistened more and more often, as well as mineral fertilizers should be applied. Do not neglect mulch, as it is able to give the plant everything it needs, unfortunately, nitrogen is not included in the composition. Common people use manure or nettle decoction until the beginning of the second half of summer, this will replace nitrogen.
Upon reaching the age of two years, the plant is able to receive fertilizing in the form of compost or manure. All this can be introduced into the soil when it is dug up. Add mulch on time.Sawdust, shavings, ash, mullein, weeds can be poured under the ezhemalina bush. Make a layer about eight to fifteen centimeters. Over time, the mulch will start to rot and turn into an excellent natural fertilizer.
You need to make your own or buy pegs to support this plant. In the summer, when you reach a height of two to two and a half meters, start pinching the shoots. Unfortunately, ezhemalina bears ripe fruits not at the same time, but gradually, fruit ripening occurs until winter.
When you are finished strengthening the bush bushes in the planting holes, trim them with sharp scissors and gloves to thirty centimeters. Further, arrange cutting off excess parts only in March and November.
Unfortunately, like any other plant, ezhemalin can be attacked by parasites and various diseases. If you find a light bloom on the foliage of a shrub, purchase chemical products from a special garden store, for example:
- "Vectra".
- "Stroby".
- "Saprol".
- "Speed".
- "Mikosan".
- "Topaz".
It is important to take into account that all chemicals have a negative effect on the harvest, and to cause less harm, it is necessary to process the plants at least sixty days before picking the berries.
At the time of the growing season, purchase a 1% solution of colloidal sulfur, a 1% solution of soda, wood ash about two hundred grams. Mix and pour it all into a spray bottle, spray the plant.
For a favorable state of rest in winter, it is necessary to prepare. Apply special mineral fertilizers to the soil from September to April. Remove unnecessary parts of the plant in a timely manner. Water the plants regularly and abundantly.
