Dracaena: description
People call it a palm tree because of its similarity. Dracaena belongs to the butcher family. In this family, one hundred and fifty types of Dracaena are distinguished. One of them - Dracaena Marginata is in our apartment. The story of her appearance is quite interesting.
Dracaena: appearance in the house
It happened like this:
Once I found a discarded dracaena fifty centimeters tall near my house. It was clear that she had ended up here after domestic quarrels, as there were still discarded flower pots and some household items lying nearby. It is a pity that these innocent flowers fell under the hot hand of the quarreling. Flowers are also living beings, they bring joy to the house, respond to human emotions and delight the owners with their beauty. And, of course, they should not be offended.
So Dracaena appeared in the house, which made my mother very happy. She immediately found a pot that was the right size for her.
Dracaena pot size
This is very important. It is necessary to select such that all the roots of the plant are in the ground. There should be a hole in the bottom of the pot to drain excess water when watering the plant. It is imperative that before planting a tree in a pot, drainage from small stones should be made in it at the bottom, or just place some rubble.
Then cover the crushed stone with a small amount of earth and plant Dracena. At the same time, make sure that the root is laid neatly. Fill the soil around the root and so fill it up to the very top.
Transfer
Approximately once every three years, Dracena needs to be transplanted into another larger pot to match her growth. When replanting, also perform all the actions as for the initial planting described above. It is better to put the plant on a window on the east side so that there is no sunlight. Dracaena loves to be sprayed with water or bathed in the bathroom. In the bathroom, you can douse it with water from the shower or simply wipe its leaves with a damp cloth. The water should be at room temperature.
This is the story of the appearance of Dracaena with us. She has already grown up and now stands on the floor, since she no longer enters the windowsill. We often talk to her. Dracena likes this. For care and love for her, she reciprocates.
