Black currant in Memory of Kyndyl belongs to the representatives of plants with an average period of fruit ripening. This variety appeared in the Yakutsk Research Institute of Agriculture, thanks to the works of such breeders as M.A. Chertkova, L.P. Gotovtseva, by breeding subspecies of the Yakutsk currant and Exhibition... The subspecies under consideration, since 2006, has been on the State test of varieties.
Blackcurrant in Memory of Kyndyl - description and characteristics
The shrub of this subspecies has an average growth rate and thickening, and also has a fairly strong spreading. Its lignified shoots are endowed with medium thickness, have pubescence and brownish-yellow color. The buds are of medium size, they are solitary, adpressed, conical in shape, and also slightly stained with anthocyanin. These buds also have pubescence, and the bud of the apical part is not in a free position. The leaf scar has a wedge-shaped round shape.
The foliage of this currant bush is five-lobed. One such leaf is endowed with an average size and dark green color, its surface is glossy and leathery, with a wrinkled structure. The leaf blade is folded along the main veins. There are denticles along the edge of the leaf. The lobes are sharp, the middle one has a regular triangular shape, slightly longer than the lateral ones, between the veins of the lateral lobes there is an obtuse angle. The basal lobes are moderately pronounced, outstretched. The base of this leaflet is triangular in shape, there is a notch with an average depth and width, open type. The teeth are of medium size, with a distinct "tip". The petiole is elongated, with an average width, at the very base it has an anthocyanin color, is at an angle of 30 degrees to the shoot itself.
The flowers are medium in size when opened, they are wide. The sepals of such flowers are freely arranged and have a light pink tint. The brushes are of medium length, with a slight curvature. The fruits in the cluster are quite close to each other. The axis is of medium thickness and pubescence. The peduncle is also endowed with an average length, thin, with slight pubescence, has a greenish-brown tint.
The fruits of this subspecies of black currant are large enough, each berry can reach a mass of 1.8 grams. They have an oval-round shape, black tint. When removed, the berry has a dry separation. The inner part of the fruit has an average number of seeds, ranging from 28 to 75 pieces. The surface of the berry is covered with a skin of medium density. These berries taste sweet, with a small amount of acidity, quite aromatic, and have a universal purpose. The cup is medium in size, half open. In their chemical composition, these fruits have: dry soluble substances 14.1 percent, the amount of sugars 10.3 percent, titratable acids 3.5 percent, ascorbic acid (vitamin C) 100.7 milligrams per 100 grams of product.
The subspecies considers its main distinguishing features: a high level of frost tolerance, an average indicator of resistance to a dry period, good immunity to some common and dangerous diseases, as well as harmful insects. It is also worth noting that this subspecies is quite productive, its average indicator is 4.6 tons per hectare, but the maximum yield of 9.7 tons per hectare of total area was also recorded.
Advantages and disadvantages
Like any other variety, this subspecies of black currant has a number of positive and negative qualities. The advantages of the variety include:

The main disadvantage of the subspecies is its low immunity to powdery mildew disease.
