Black currant Openwork of medium ripening time, was obtained at the All-Russian Research Institute of Breeding of Fruit Crops from combining such varieties of black currant as "ruffled" and "lazy", thanks to the work of selection specialists T. P. Ogoltsova, L. V. Bayanova and S. D Knyazev. In 2004, this variety of black currant was added to the state register, allowed for cultivation in the Central, Volga-Vyatka and Central Black Earth regions.

Blackcurrant Openwork grows of medium size, spreading is weak, density is assessed as rare. Growing annual non-lignified branches of ordinary size, color green, no villi, lignified branches of medium size, glossy, gray and yellowish at the same time, the upper part is yellow. Buds in a single copy, medium size, ovoid shape, color pink and purple at the same time, the upper part is sharp, parallel to the branches, leaf scar with a rounded - wedge-shaped shape.

The lobes located on the sides are narrow, triangular in shape with a large base, slightly elongated than the lateral ones, the upper part is elongated. The basal lobes are not pronounced, the veins are located towards the upper part, oblique or outstretched. The notch at the base is usually small, fully open and wide. Serration is small, sharp, wide. The petiole is of medium size, with a bright brown color, with villi.
