Sweet cherry Yaroslavna was bred at the Scientific University, which is dedicated to gardening. It appeared due to the crossing of varieties such as Drogana yellow and a hybrid of sweet cherry, thanks to which the new variety has many positive aspects. The author of the crossing is Taranenko, who carried out all the experiments and checks after the creation of the variety. After all the checks, the Yaroslavna sweet cherry variety was included in the state register of the Caucasus region.

The cherry tree variety Yaroslavna reaches up to 4.8 meters in height, therefore it is considered a large species. The crown forms into a huge, fluffy oval. The branches are very close, so pruning is required very often, about 2-3 times a year. The foliage of the sweet cherry tree Yaroslavna is dense due to the close arrangement of the branches. Leaves are green with a slight gray tint. One of the surfaces of the sheet is glossy and shiny, while the other is matte and has slight roughness that can be felt to the touch. The edges of the leaf are slightly serrated.

The berries of the Yaroslavna cherry variety are large, about 8 grams per berry, sometimes fruits of 12 grams are found, while they retain their integrity and do not crack, thanks to the dense shell that surrounds the pulp. The berries are oval in shape and slightly elongated at one end, very sweet in taste. The pulp is juicy and has a small amount of fibers, so the pulp is soft and with a lot of juice. The berries of the Yaroslavna cherry are located on a medium-sized stalk, it is firmly attached to the fruit, so it does not fall off. Experts rate the appearance and taste of the fruit as 9.3 points out of 10 points.
The usefulness of Yaroslavna cherries is very high, since they contain 11% vitamin C, 3% acids, 8% nutrients, 8% dry matter and 20% natural sugar.
From the fruits of the sweet cherry Yaroslavna, an excellent preservation is obtained in the form of syrups, preserves, jam, wine, compote, juice. The fruits can be dried in the oven or frozen for the winter.
Due to the sterility of the sweet cherry Yaroslavna needs pollinators, therefore, next to it, another variety must be planted, which will pollinate the tree. When choosing pollinators for sweet cherry Yaroslavna, the flowering time should be taken into account, it should be the same for both varieties.
The first crop will appear 3 years after planting. And full ripening occurs in early July or late July. The amount of harvest is regular from year to year and is about 120 centners per hectare.
