The level of resistance of the sweet cherry variety Olenka to cold weather in the southern parts of the Central Black Earth Region is not bad, but this sweet cherry variety is not the best in this regard, we recommend giving preference to such varieties as “Yulia" and "pink early". The stems have a high level of resistance to direct sunlight burns, however, in especially cold winter seasons, for example, in 2004-2005 with an excessively low temperature regime in the second winter - first spring months after powerful long thaws, cambium freezing was noticed: fifty percent of freezing in this variety of cherries, approximately one point and two tenths of a point, and in other varieties of cherries, this point does not exceed two to four tenths of a point. The level of resistance of flower buds to cold weather is normal. Immediately after a cold of minus thirty-four degrees on the seventeenth of the first winter month of 1997, sixty-one whole and five-tenths of a percent of flower buds died. In extremely cold winter seasons, for example, in 1993 - 1994, in the first weeks of the second winter month, the temperature indicator dropped to thirty-two and a half degrees, immediately after a powerful and long thaw in the first and second winter months, the death of flower buds reached ninety-six whole and seven tenths of a percent. The level of resistance to some fungal diseases is high.
