Green onions in the garden can grow throughout the year. It can be successfully grown in the warm season in an open field, and in winter in a greenhouse and even on a window. You can quickly grow green onions in two ways: in water and on land.
For landing on water
We use a suitable container for the size of the onion. Under no circumstances should the bulb be immersed in water. To speed up the germination of the bulbs, it is necessary to warm them up in hot water no more than 50 degrees. Then place the bulbs in the biostimulant solution. This solution can be prepared from a fresh aloe plant. Squeeze the juice from the leaves into the cooled water and place the onions in it.
The water should only touch the bottom of the bulb. The growing roots will nourish the plant. Aloe juice strengthens the plant's immune system. The feather grows rapidly. The water under the bulbs usually does not change. Only topped up with fresh water. Onions need light to grow. In winter, special lamps must be used.
Growing onions in soil
For this, a special set is used - very small onions. Adult bulbs can also be planted. Planting is done first in a tray with soil prepared for this purpose.
The tray should have a perforated bottom for draining excess water and a tray to collect it. The boat itself can be made of plastic. The use of wooden trays is not recommended as they absorb moisture and are susceptible to diseases caused by rotting fungi. The tree tends to rot.
Pallets that have already been used must be disinfected before filling them with primer.
It is advisable to use purchased soil for planting. It is already balanced in terms of the amount of nutrients. If you use a different soil, then it must first be calcined in the oven for disinfection. Then dilute it with sand and peat. Boiling water or potassium permanganate solution can also be used for disinfection.
Bulbs to be planted in soil also need to be disinfected to protect them from disease. For this, the bulbs are kept for 30 minutes in a dark solution of potassium permanganate. When planted on the ground, the bulbs deepen by no more than a third. You need to plant in rows close to each other. Since the onions will grow in this tray for a short time, this will not affect the quality of the onions. The planted bulbs are watered with warm water, you can pour a weak solution of potassium permanganate.
Keep the trays in a warm place with an air temperature of at least 22-25 degrees. The light mode is very important for the quick germination of onions. In winter, onions should be supplemented with special plant lamps.
