It is better to choose a place for planting garden lingonberries open, with sufficient sunlight, but protected from strong winds. To do this, you can make a natural barrier nearby from any plantings, for example, juniper. This plant should not be planted in low-lying areas where water can accumulate. it hardly tolerates waterlogging of the soil. Of course, it will be most optimal to create conditions for this berry that are most close to the natural environment, then it will develop well and quickly. Lingonberry loves peaty or light loam soil, but does not tolerate sour sandy loam. It is also worth monitoring the presence of organic substances in the soil - they should not be more than 15%.
If you have black soil or clay soil in your garden, then you should add a good layer of a mixture of peat, sawdust and sand. PH 3-5 is a measure of the acidity most suitable for this berry. If it is lower, then you can increase it by adding vinegar (about 10 grams per 10 liters of water) or crushed sulfur (also 10 grams per square meter). From groundwater, which can be located very close, you can save yourself with rubble, stones, bricks laid on the bottom of the holes. It is better to plant lingonberries in April-May, until the shoots begin to develop or in the fall, then the branches are already fully strengthened. For seedlings to take root well, choose those whose roots are covered with an earthen clod. When planting, you need to adhere to a distance of half a meter between the bushes and a little more between the rows. Less often (after 20-25 cm), flower beds with seedlings are planted to create original, beautiful compositions. Immediately before planting garden lingonberries, minerals must be added to the soil. If you make a calculation based on a plot of 3 square meters, you will need a matchbox of ammonium, potassium sulfate and superphosphate. But manure or bird droppings cannot be added, otherwise it will lead to the burning of all the roots. Chlorine-containing products are also not used for fertilization. After making all the necessary funds, the soil must be watered.
The most optimal age of garden lingonberry seedlings for planting is 2-3 years. Plant them shallowly (good pit sizes are 30 by 30 cm). After that, the soil is subject to mandatory mulching (at least 5-6 cm). To do this, you can use fine gravel, bark, sawdust, needles, straw. Then the seedlings are briefly covered with foil.

The most important factor for good and correct growth of garden lingonberries is proper watering. She equally does not tolerate drying out and waterlogging of the soil. You need to water it using the method of small-drop sprinkling or irrigate the berry 2 times a week. One square meter uses 10 liters of water, no more. In severely dry periods, additional spraying is carried out directly on the leaves of the plant. Do not neglect loosening and weeding, as well as mulching with peat or sand. It is recommended to apply fertilizers once every 2-4 years, more often it is not necessary. In the fall, they are fed with double superphosphate (15 grams per 10 liters), and in the spring with potassium and nitrogen (6 grams and 10 grams per bucket of water, respectively). Sometimes lingonberries can be pampered with Ogrod 2001.
Do not forget to systematically acidify the soil, for example, with citric acid. And add battery acid no more than 1 time in 3 years (for 10 liters of water, 70 ml of acid).
After 7 years have passed since the planting of the garden lingonberry, the first pruning can be done. This is done to increase productivity and rejuvenate the bush. If it has grown strongly, you need to thin out the shoots. In general, this berry does not need shelter in winter, but if the wind is too strong and frost, it is worth covering it with a spandbond. You can start harvesting garden lingonberries in July and do this before the onset of frost. Various sauces, jams, preserves, compotes are made from berries.
A beautiful and healthy garden lingonberry will look great on any site, and with its healing properties will relieve you of many diseases and give you health
