- Plum bushiness (overgrowth). This plum disease is characterized by a large number of short, bunched shoots. Of course, shoots infected with this disease will not be able to bear fruit. Unfortunately, if the branch is already sick, then it must only be removed. For prevention, it is important to use mineral and organic fertilizers, and Bordeaux liquid has also proven itself well.
- Gum therapy. This plum disease is most often found on seed crops that have already been infected with the fungus. The reasons for the onset of this disease can be if there was a lack of watering, as well as if you overdid it with fertilizing. Among the signs of this disease can be distinguished: there is a wound or crack on the trunk and shoots, in the place from which the gum flowed, frozen drops of a colorless nature appear. If you see these signs on your drain, then the affected areas need to be treated with a 1% solution of copper sulfate, or take a garden pitch. Otherwise, the trees may simply die. If the shoot was severely affected, then it is better to remove it.

- Plum pockets. The causative agents of this disease are vocal fungi. Spores of this fungus begin to penetrate the flowers of the tree, thus infection occurs. Since the infection occurs inside the fetus, they do not have a bone and such fruits simply cannot be eaten. How can we fight this: in the first half of the summer, it will be necessary to remove all infected shoots; it is necessary to collect and destroy infected shoots before the spores of the fungus begin to disperse; for prevention, it is better to use a solution of Bordeaux mixture (3%).
- Rust. In July, you can sometimes notice rust spots on the plum leaves, over time they can increase in size. It is impossible to leave an infected tree just like that, as resistance to winter frosts decreases, and the yield will also be much less than expected. For prevention, you can use copper oxychloride before and after the moment of flowering. After you harvest (autumn), you can also spray the tree with a 1% solution of Bordeaux mixture.

For what reason worms appear in the plum. Plum sawfly larvae destroy the plum crop while still in green color. They eat not only the bone, but also the pulp of the fruit.
