The Blossfeldia culture is a miniature representative of the Cactus group. Initially, breeders identified several types of culture, but then 3 species were combined into one group, since they were very similar to each other. They have become deprived of independence and currently represent a monotypic group.

The tiny Blossfeldia cactus is perennial and grows in highlands. The root system of the flower is very strong, it develops and begins to cling to the soil, especially in the cracks of the rocks. The plant looks like small stems that have a slight extension towards the end. The color of the plant is very dull, it is dull and always the same, the color is similar to a grayish brown color. This plant is usually planted as a backdrop for other, more vibrant crops.

But at the same time, the culture does not have the thorns, tubercles and ribs that a cactus has. Also, a slight resemblance to a cactus is manifested in the presence of areoles that are on the shoots.

The flowering period begins at the end of May and ends in June, and the cactus also blooms again at the end of August.
