Amprolium is a drug that is produced in the form of a powder that does not have a pronounced or characteristic odor or taste. 1 gram of powder contains about a third of amprolium, as well as hydrochloride and lactose. At the same time, the powder dissolves well enough in water, which allows the animal to mix it in, and it will not even notice the presence of any substance in its food or water.

Most often, the drug Amprolium is used to treat the bacteria of coccidia, which are bred in the organisms of domesticated birds. The effect of the drug is such that it acts on parasites and microorganisms, but at the same time does not at all inhibit the immunity of the animal itself. Therefore, he will be able to independently continue to fight dangerous diseases, given that immunity is extremely important in order not to expose the body to dangers in the future. As for the chemical structure of the drug, it is extremely close in composition to vitamin B1. In fact, the remedy leads to the fact that the metabolism of pathogenic substances is disturbed, and they gradually die, freeing the bird's body from harmful effects.

Despite its composition, the drug Amprolium is generally quite compatible with other drugs: it can be used simultaneously with vitamins, as well as feed additives. This can also have an additional effect, since birds or animals will not even realize that there is an additional substance in their food that has medicinal properties. Thus, the drug is given to the animal along with a drink or mixed with food. The amount should not exceed the daily requirement, or otherwise it can lead to an overdose of the drug, and the animal can only become more ill.

For the prevention of diseases that are more common in rabbits, it is necessary to dilute 0.5 grams of Amprolium powder per 1 liter of water. If the drug is mixed with feed, then the same amount of the drug is needed, but it will be consumed per kilogram of feed. This mixture must be given to the animal continuously for three weeks, that is, within 21 days. During this time, the bacteria will have time to die and leave the animal's body.

When treated with Amprolium, sheep need a different dosage: for the prevention of 1 gram of the drug per 50 kilograms of the animal's body weight, it is necessary to calculate it depending on how much weight the sheep have already reached. Application is also necessary within 21 days, after which prophylaxis is terminated.

Contraindications to the use of Amprolium

As a rule, there are no side effects from the use of Amprolium, but you still need to keep in mind several contraindications, in which it is best not to use the Amprolium medicine, since it will not bring any benefit, but may cause additional harm:

• Individual intolerance of an animal or bird to the drug that the gardener plans to use;
• Diseases of the renal system, urinary systems, and also the liver, since the drug can give an additional load on the animal's body, which is fraught with negative consequences;
• If the replacement youngsters, in relation to which the drug is used, are less than 16 weeks old, then in no case should you try to use the drug. Without that, a weak immunity will not withstand the additional load, and the animal will die.

It is not recommended to use other furan preparations at the same time with Amprolium, since they can cause side effects in cooperation, and also usually do not have a positive effect on the body. In addition, the drug is not absorbed if other feed antibiotics are used at the same time with it.
